Allen, you are officially in charge of Lester now. Your Dad has taught you well in how to deal with him, so go at it. Your Dad and the rest of your family and friends miss you so much but we know you are in a much better place than we are. Give Lester a big kiss from me and please keep him in line.

I just wanted to say that even over two years later, this still sucks so bad about Allen. The part that hit me the most and the worst was not just the fact that Eastern NC had lost another outstanding law enforcement officer needlessly, but the fact that I had sent this suspect to prison previously when I worked at Craven County SO when he tried to kill his then girlfriend at the time. Not that I maybe could have done something differently but how after 4-5 years in prison, he gets out and ends up doing the same thing but this time so much worse... RIP Allen. We'll take the watch from here and we will never forget your "ultimate sacrifice". God Bless all of the family and friends of Allen that were affected so much closer and deeper by this tragedy.
