Samuel McLawhorn  

President and Chief Executive Officer

 

Mr. McLawhorn is a founding member of this organization and is dedicated to its growth and service to emergency service departments and workers.  He serves jointly as the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Board of Directors.  Mr. McLawhorn is employed as a State Trooper with the North Carolina Highway Patrol.  Mr. McLawhorn handles the daily operations of this foundation and organizes all fundraisers and event participation.  He is a member of the Lenoir County Fraternal Order of Police, Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce and Deep Run Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. McLawhorn is also a member of Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge #304 in Deep Run, NC.

Ryan Dawson

Vice President and Chief Information Officer

 

Mr. Dawson is a founding member of this organization and strives to honor Detective Allen Pearson through the promotion and work of this foundation.  He serves jointly as the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of the Board of Directors. Mr. Dawson is employed as a Detective with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.  Mr. Dawson assists the president with daily operations and coordinates with the community and media to promote this foundation.  He is the President of the Lenoir County Fraternal Order of Police, Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce, Young Professionals of Lenoir County and Tanglewood Church of God.  He holds a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. 

Lynn Hill

Director and Information Technology Specialist

 

Mr. Hill serves jointly as secretary to the Board of Directors and IT Specialist.  Mr. Hill is responsible for managing and upgrading the foundations infrastructure.  He also works with our Chief Information Officer to promote this foundation to the community through the use of this foundation web page.  He is employed as Operations Manager at Westside Minerals, LLC. in LaGrange, NC. Mr. Hill is a retired Assistant Chief and pasted President with North Lenoir Volunteer
                                                   Fire and Rescue. Mr. Hill is also a member of St. John’s  Masonic Lodge #4 in Kinston, NC

Craig Jones

Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer

 

Mr. Jones is the Foundations’ Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the Board of Directors.  He is employed as a Vice President and City Executive with Southern Bank and Trust in LaGrange, NC.  Mr. Jones is a member of the LaGrange Rotary Club, Southwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue where he serves as an officer and member of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Jones holds a Bachelors degree
in Trust Management and Financial Planning from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.

Katherine Woodyard Pearson

Director

 

Mrs. Pearson is a founding member of this foundation.  She serves as a member of the Board of Directors and is one of two Life Members on this Board.  Mrs. Pearson is the wife of Detective Allen Pearson.  She strives to deal with the loss of the love of her life each day, but devotes her time to supporting the things her husband loved and serving this foundation to honor Allen and the ultimate sacrifice he made.  Mrs. Pearson holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, NC.

Kelly Ransom

Director

 

Mrs. Ransom is a founding member of this foundation.  She serves as a member of the Board of Directors and is one of two Life Members on this Board.  Mrs. Ransom is the sister of Detective Allen Pearson.  As the younger sibling of Allen, she lives each day remembering how he served his community without hesitation.  Mrs. Ransom is employed as a Registered Nurse and serves her community just as her brother did.  She holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Pitt Community College in Greenville, NC.

Beverly McLawhorn

Director

 

Mrs. McLawhorn is a founding member of this foundation and works each day to honor her friend Allen Pearson. Mrs. McLawhorn is employed as a teacher with Lenoir County Public Schools.  She is a member of Deep Run Free Will Baptist Church.  Mrs. McLawhorn holds a Associate degree from Peace College and Bachelors and Masters degree in child development and family relation from ECU, in Greenville,  NC.

Mr. Howard is a member of the Board of Directors of this Foundation. Mr. Howard is employed as a Detective with the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office. He is also a member of the Lenoir County Fraternal Order of police lodge 93, the Jones, Greene, Lenoir Law Enforcement Association and a member of Southwood Memorial Christian Church.

Mr. Ward is a member of the Board of Directors and strives daily to promote the organization in honor of Detective Allen Pearson. He is employed as a Lieutenant with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and currently serves as Commander on the LCSO Special Response Team (SRT). Mr. Ward has served in law enforcement in Kinston / Lenoir County since 1986 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, NC. He is an active member of the North Carolina Tactical Officers Association. Mr. Ward also holds the General Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate and recently completed the Senior Level                                                                     Management Training at Coastal Plain Law Enforcement Management Institute.
